About candidate

About you
My name is Tkaylah and I work as a Professional Bather at PetSmart in Arkansas. When I am not working, I am doing my assignments. I am 7 months away from getting a Bachelor's in Creative Writing. When I'm not doing that or taking care of my puppy, I enjoy doing things like reading, writing, gaming, or watching K-pop videos with my twin sister. I aspire to become a YouTube and Twitch content creator and author, inspired by the stories I read as a teenager and the talented woman I see as role models.

P.S I wasn't sure what to do with the Category option in the General Section, so I just chose one. I hope that's alright.
What are you looking for in a new role?
I am seeking a part-time position with flexible hours that allows me to spend less time on my feet due to my physical disability. Constantly bending down and working with big dogs can be exhausting, so I hope to find a role where I can apply my strengths more comfortably and maintain a balance between work, school, and family responsibilities.
What you are interested in working with us?
I am interested in joining your team because I want a job that comes naturally to me and lets me work in a comfortable setting. Spending time at my desk and computer is where I am most at ease, and your part-time, flexible opportunities would allow me to earn more while still dedicating time to my education, family, and current job.
What has been most challenging experience in a past role?
I feel that at my current job I have had quite a few challenging experiences. Whether that's making sure that an injured pet that I am working on gets immediate veterinary attention, handling upset pet parents, or figuring out how to balance my duties in order to complete services on 7 big dogs in just 7 hours. More recently, I was forced to take in 2 dogs against policy due to another colleague, one that didn't have the proper rabies paperwork, and another that had heartworms and was aggressive for nail trims. The pet parent was an hour late to her appointment and thanks to my colleagues dedication to her role, she also was given the opportunity add more services to her appointment. Thankfully, her pets were very well behaved during the service and I was able to complete them in a timely matter. I did, at the end of the service, explain to the pet parent that in the future I may not have the availability to take one or both dogs an hour late and that Iris (the one with heartworms) would need to see a vet and test negative for heartworms before her next appointment. The pet parent was very understanding and I was quite proud of myself, despite my frustration with my colleagues actions. At the end of my shift, I also made sure to go over our policies, so that I could do better if this situation were to ever arise again.

Dear Hiring Manager of Blossom Beauty Care,

My name is Tkaylah Brown, and I am excited to apply for a part-time flexible position at your organization. I currently reside in Arkansas and work as a Professional Bather at PetSmart, where I have developed strong customer service skills and the ability to adapt to challenging environments. My duties often include handling multiple large dogs, responding rapidly to emergencies, and maintaining clear communication with pet parents—responsibilities that have taught me patience, attention to detail, and reliability throughout my employment.

Balancing work, education, and family is important to me. I am pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing – Fiction at SNHU Online and have maintained a high GPA while juggling part-time jobs and supporting my siblings. Having a physical disability, I have become adept at managing my time and energy efficiently, seeking out roles that allow me to contribute meaningfully while working from settings that best suit my needs. I spend much of my free time at my computer, enjoying writing, reading, gaming, and connecting with others in creative and digital environments. The opportunity to earn more while still focusing on my academic and family responsibilities is essential for me, which is why your flexible scheduling appeals to my goals.

I believe my background in customer service and my adaptability makes me a strong candidate for your team. I am eager to apply my communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a role that will allow me to grow while working in a comfortable and productive setting.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team.

Sincerely,
Tkaylah Brown
